Go for a hike on the Lightning Creek Trail; there's whitewater on Madison River for all you adrenaline people. Good hiking is available along the Cutoff Trail, and at Lightning Lake you can make out Apex Point. High temperatures at Lightning Lake all through the months of summer are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; nighttime lows during the winter for Lightning Lake

lake, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn WEST YELLOWSTONE is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. Beaver Creek Campground 2 is a good local campground; Big Sky is a brilliant local ski area. The slopes of Moonlight
Basin are so inviting noone can resist, and there's fine hiking along the Wapiti Creek Trail. Lightning Lake gets very little rainfall; during the month of June you get the most rain around here; January is the month with the least moisture.
