Why not take a refreshing hike along the Eldridge Trail, and camping at McGill Campground is always a great experience. Hiking along the Wapiti Creek Trail is great fun, and if you need a site to stay Beaverhead is a good choice. At Lake Levinsky you always meet someone from Bozeman, and whitewater paddling is fine on Gallatin River. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are commonly in the 30's while Lake Levinsky overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
