If you came for an overnight stay Lyons Spring Campground is a great place to camp; if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Sipes Creek Trail. Leon Lake gets very little precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is August. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Happy's Inn and Resort while you're here at Leon Lake, and the       Calx Mountain Trail is a splendid hiking trail close by. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Cabinet Mountains. Wabuno Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to, and perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Loon Lake is just a very short distance away. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Leon Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in                  the wintertime at Leon Lake temperatures drop to the 10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot.
