Skiing at Great Divide is one of those things you just should do; Lake Helena is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Coulter Campground is a delightful local campground. Lake Helena is generally a relatively arid place; May is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. At Lake Helena you always meet someone from Helena; there's great hiking along the Prospect Shafts Trail. But       wait, there's more to do near Lake Helena. Elkhorn Mountain Inn is a perfect location to get some rest; you can go for a hike on the 1906 Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Lake Helena. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Lake Helena. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you                  at Red Lion Colonial Hotel; a good beach nearby is Black Sandy Beach. Don't leave Lake Helena without first going for a hike along the Backside Trail.
