Bear Trap Canyon is in the neighborhood of Lake Ennis and is a perfect place, and if you need a place to stay Beaverhead is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Madison River is so much fun, and a lake nearby is Ennis Lake. Summertime highs at Lake Ennis ordinarily tend to be in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Lake Ennis dipping down into the 10's through winter nights.

| | Why not pop by Madison Dam while you're here. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Big Sky is close to Lake Ennis, obviously you could also stop by Lone Acre Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Looking for some flowing water? Try Barn Creek, and camping is available at Valley Garden Campground. It is very dehydrated here at Lake Ennis mostly; during the month of May you get the most rain around here while February is ordinarily the driest month. You | |

Yellowstone National Park is just 18 miles away with the West Yellowstone entrance only 48 miles south of Big Sky Resort. In the winter take a guided hike around the park. Ride a snow-coach to Old Faithful Lodge and check out the wildlife. Cross- country ski along the Riverside Trail or snowshoe to frozen Mystic Falls near the Upper Geyser Basin.
