Put some time aside to spend at Rainbow Falls if you're here at Kootenai Lakes, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Flathead River - Middle       Fork. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Middle Fork River Inn is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and camping at Sprague Creek Campground is always a delightful experience. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Kootenai Lakes. While you're here at Kootenai Lakes you can take a hike along the Stoney Indian Pass Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Belton Chalet. Visit Camp Creek since you're here at Kootenai Lakes,                  and nearby Waterton Valley is a brilliant place to go. At Kootenai Lakes you don’t see much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly December, that's the one that snows the most; the driest month is April.
