     The beauty of Kookoo Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. Very striking scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Red Lodge Mountain. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Kookoo Lake, and the nighttime is somewhat cooler of course, mostly in the 30's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Kookoo Lake dipping down into the  
   0's all through winter nights.
You'll need more than a day to explore everything Kookoo Lake has to offer, you can camp at East Rosebud Campground, and since you're here, you could also stop at pretty Bowback Lake. Kookoo Lake gets a common amount of annual rainfall; June is the month that gets the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rosebud Creek - East, and if you need a
 
               site to stay Cary Inn is a brilliant choice.
This site, the Absaroka Range, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. Kookoo Lake is right by the Beartooth Highlakes Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Rosebud Creek - West offers some glorious whitewater. Have a good hiking adventure along the Beauty Lake Trail, and Sundance Pass is in the vicinity, and is a nice place. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Absaroka Range. Hiking along the Upper Granite Loop Trail is nice fun; Old Crow Agency is a good spot to get some rest.
Any time is a fine time at Kookoo Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. There's so much to do here at Kookoo Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Jimmy Joe Campground is a glorious place for that, and the panorama of beautiful Elk Mountain is delightful.
