     Why not take a refreshing hike along the Thompson River Mount Headley Trail, and a wonderful close by hotel is Super 8 Motel - St. Regis. Nearby Squaw Pass is a splendid place to go if you're at Knowles Lake; Knowles Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Clark Memorial Campground is a good local campground. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Knowles Lake. Hiking along the Slide Rock Mountain Trail is great fun; a good place for  
   whitewater paddling is Vermilion River. This lake is so wonderful. Rodeway Inn Libby is a fine spot to get some rest.
Throughout the summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Knowles Lake. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are commonly in the 30's; night lows in the 10's for Knowles Lake. Take a hike on the West Fork Fishtrap Trail, and do have a look at Porcupine Lake, it's a beautiful lake. There's so much
 
               to do here at Knowles Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Copper King Campground is a great place for that, and a delightful vista of beautiful Cube Iron Mountain is available.
This lake is so wonderful. Big Spring is a striking place to visit while you're at Knowles Lake, and you'll find a scenic lake called Frog Lake. A common amount of rain falls here at Knowles Lake; January is when you get the most snow here, and July is when it's the driest.
