Get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Stillwater River, and don't leave Knott Lake without first going for a hike along the Republic Trail. Knott Lake is located in the Absaroka Range. Just can't get enough of the Absaroka Range. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not stop by Wolf Lakes near Knott Lake, and Knott Lake is a brilliant spot to visit for more than one day, Colter       Campground is a brilliant spot to camp nearby. The panorama of Big Mountain from Knott Lake is lovely. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Knott Lake has to offer, you can camp at Chief Joseph Campground. Knott Lake is pretty dry typically; all through May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. At Knott Lake during the summer months highs are in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into                  the 30's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Knott Lake plunge into the 0's. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clarks Fork Yellowstone, and there's good hiking along the Pilot Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Big Timber is a perfect choice, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Knott Lake; Crazy Lakes Trail is a great local trail. This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not enough there's loads more fun stuff to do in the Absaroka Range.
