Through the summertime       at Kleinschmidt Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Through the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Kleinschmidt Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Blackfoot River - North Fork, and Rodeway Inn Deer Lodge is a fine site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful.                  A trip to Jacobsen Spring will fill your soul with magnificent feelings, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Lake Otatsy Trail. Kleinschmidt Lake gets very little rain; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow; the driest of the months is July.
