A visit to Lake Kathleen is always a good idea. This lake is located in the wonderful Absaroka Range. Around Lake Kathleen you don’t get a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Do stop by Burnt Gulch Lake near Lake Kathleen, it's a pretty lake; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Boulder River.

| | at Lake Kathleen comes with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Kathleen are in the 10's. There is a magnificent hiking trail near Lake Kathleen called the Buffalo Plateau Trail, and camping at Hells Canyon Campground is always a good experience.
