In Montana there are many beautiful lakes, Jumbo Lake is one of them. Good hiking is available along the Eldridge Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Rainbow Ranch Lodge. Jumbo Lake is a location that is reasonably dry regularly; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Castle Rock Inn is a great local campground, and you can never get enough of the brilliant skiing at Big Sky. There's perfect hiking along the Wapiti Ridge Trail. Lava Lake is a glorious lake near Jumbo Lake, and Elkhorn is a delightful campground nearby.

summer months are in the 80's while night lows are typically in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Jumbo Lake plunge into the 10's. There's just no way
somebody can get bored here at Jumbo Lake. Jumbo Mountain can be observed from Jumbo Lake; skiing at Moonlight Basin is one of those things you just should do.
Lakes? Sure, Cascade Lakes is close at hand, and in the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Gallatin River.

It starts out near a small pond called Moose Lake, follows a path up some dense forest for a couple of miles, then opens up into these huge rolling meadows surrounded by Cedar Mountain, Pioneer Mountain, and Lone Mountain with a great view of Sphinx Mountain in the distance.... |
