The Fenn Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best; since you're here, you could stop at McCabe Creek. Not much precipitation falls here at Jones Lake; the wettest month of the year is commonly January, that's the one that snows the most, and the driest month of the year is July. Good hiking is available along the Dunham Lodgepole Trail, and if you came for an overnight       stay Russell Gates Memorial Campground is a great place to camp. During the summertime, highs commonly are in the 80's at Jones Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; night lows in the 0's for Jones Lake. There's whitewater on Blackfoot River - North Fork for all you adrenaline people, and if you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Deer Lodge is a good choice. Be careful coming to Jones                  Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Do explore Rice Lake in the vicinity of Jones Lake, it's a wonderful lake; there are some great whitewater spots on Blackfoot River.
