There's great hiking along the Pilot Creek Trail, and a pleasant place to camp here at Jeff Lake is Colter Campground. At Jeff Lake through the summertime highs are in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Jeff Lake. All the outdoors fun things in the Absaroka       Range will keep you coming back over and over. The North Crandall Trail offers hiking at its best; glide down the rapids of Clarks Fork Yellowstone in a kayak. This lake is located in the wonderful Absaroka Range. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Absaroka Range. Near Jeff Lake you hit upon Lulu Pass which is a nice location to stop at, and camping at Soda Butte Campground is always a nice experience. You'll find a pretty lake called Mutt Lake near Jeff                  Lake, and Fisher Mountain is clearly visible from Jeff Lake. No need to travel far to check out out of the ordinary stuff like Chimney Rock, and don't leave Jeff Lake without first going for a hike along the Republic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a glorious place to spend a night or two. Jeff Lake gets very little rain; all through the month of May you get the most rain around here; the driest month is February. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a glorious time here at Jeff Lake.
