Jay Lake is a nice place to camp, Chippy Park Campground is a nice place; if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a glorious choice. Through the summertime at Jay Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Jay Lake dipping down into       the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Jay Lake is great fun, Hells Canyon Campground is a great local campground; a good place for whitewater paddling is Boulder River. Man, is there heaps of exciting things to do in the Absaroka Range. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Lodgepole Trail, and a lake nearby is Chalice Lake. You truly ought to go for the Absaroka Range. Take a hike                  on the Republic Trail, and Chalice Peak is beautiful and can be made out from here. Hiking along the Thunderer Cutoff Trail is wonderful fun, and of course, A spree to Rabbit Gulch is always fun. Jay Lake is located in the Absaroka Range.
