At Island Lake throughout the summertime months highs are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, East Fishtail Creek is a stream you can take a look at during your stay; paddling on Rosebud Creek - West is so       much fun. The Crazy Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. There's so much to do here at Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pine Grove Campground is a great location for that. Island Lake is commonly a rather arid spot; through May this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Island Lake has to offer, you can camp at Emerald Lake Campground; what would winter                  be without some skiing at Red Lodge Mountain. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Island Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Island Lake; Black Butte Trail is a good local trail; Fishtail Butte is simple to spot from Island Lake. This location, the Absaroka Range, has so much outdoors fun things. Good hiking is available along the Bozeman Trail, and whitewater paddling is fine on Stillwater River. So much exciting stuff to do in the Absaroka Range, not sufficient time.
