Island Lake gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month is March. Going for a hike along the Elk Mountain National Recreation Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and Kristianna Mountain Homes is a pleasant site to get some rest. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting things the area near Island Lake has to offer. Take a little visit to       Coniff Creek since you're here at Island Lake; lakes are such calm places, why not pop by Betts Lake. Hiking along the Slimmer Creek Trail is great fun; Lynch Lake is a perfect lake close by. Throughout the warm days of summer at Island Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's with temperatures at Island Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter                  nights. This lake is so wonderful. Island Lake is right by the Meadow Ridge Trail, and Logan Park Campground is a nice campground nearby.
