At Island Lake you don’t see much rain; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; March on the other hand is the driest. Going for a hike along the Slimmer Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and camping is available at Logan Park Campground. Summertime highs at Island Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in       the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Island Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Be careful coming to Island Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is brilliant here at Island Lake, you can go for a hike along the Elk Mountain National Recreation Trail, and a good spot to camp here at Island Lake is McGregor Lake Campground. A quick trip                  to Coniff Creek in the neighborhood of Island Lake is a pleasant idea; hiking along the Meadow Ridge Trail is brilliant fun.
