From a rain point of view Indian Knife Lake is a reasonably common location; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. While you're here at Indian Knife Lake you can take a hike along the Crazy Mountain Trail, and Lake Creek Campground is a delightful campground nearby. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful.

visit nearby Big Butte Lake, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Copeland Lake Trail.
Just can't get enough of the Absaroka Range. Lakes are glorious; Shrew Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Indian
Knife Lake, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Red Lodge Mountain is quite near. From Indian Knife Lake you obtain a splendid view of Crazy Mountain, and if you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater
paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. Summertime highs at Indian Knife Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's, and the nighttime is quite cooler of course, generally in the 30's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Indian Knife Lake temperatures sink to the 0's.
