Around Hunters Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is June, and February on the other hand is the driest. Thornton Lake Dam is not far at all from Hunters Lake; you can hit the slopes at Discovery Ski close at hand. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Hunters Lake while nighttime lows are generally in the 40's. Daytime highs all       through the winter are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Hunters Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Long Canyon Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and not far from Hunters Lake you'll hit upon Thornton Lake which is a stunning lake. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Hunters Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Deer Lodge. Have a good hiking adventure along                  the Boulder Lakes Trail. There's so much to do here at Hunters Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lost Creek Campground is a fine place for that.
