Some of the water close by flows, like Dog Creek, and while you're here, you could also go to gorgeous Cannon Lake. At Hound Creek Reservoir you don’t see much precipitation; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. The warmest time of the year at Hound Creek Reservoir comes with high temperatures in       the 70's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; overnight lows at Hound Creek Reservoir through the wintertime generally plunge into the 0's. Vigilante Campground is a great campground nearby, and you'll hit upon a charming lake called Spring Creek Reservoir. Hound Creek Dam is wonderful and it's right next door to Hound Creek Reservoir; you can go for a hike on the Vigilante National Recreation                  Trail. Now, you may assume that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Hound Creek Reservoir. Going for a hike on the Hanging Valley National Recreation Trail is always a glorious adventure. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Big Belt Mountains.
