So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Absaroka Range, not enough time. Take a little trip to Rainbow Creek while you're here at Horseshoe Lake. Get dripping wet paddling on Boulder River, and hiking along the Buffalo Plateau Trail is tremendous fun. This place, the Absaroka Range, has so much outdoors entertaining things. While you're here at Horseshoe Lake you can take a hike along the Thunderer Cutoff Trail, and probably you're looking for close by lakes?

This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Poacher Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. There's so much to do here at Horseshoe Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hells Canyon Campground is a tremendous location for that. Hicks Peak; you can stay the night at Hicks Park Campground. A delightful nearby hotel is Super 8 Big Timber, and obviously, this is a great area for people who like lakes, Emerald Lake is a lake close at hand.
Horseshoe Lake
is located in the Absaroka Range. Not much rain falls here at Horseshoe Lake; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is commonly the driest month. For the period of the summer highs here at Horseshoe Lake reach the
80's with night lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Horseshoe Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's.
