What a nice lake Horseshoe Lake is. A quick tour to Rainbow Creek near Horseshoe Lake is a fine idea, and don't leave Horseshoe Lake without first going for a hike along the Poacher Trail. Boulder River has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by, and a lake close by is Lake Kathleen. Just can't get enough of the Absaroka Range. A delightful vista of wonderful Hicks Peak is available from Horseshoe Lake, and there's tremendous hiking along the Thunderer Cutoff

Through the summer months at Horseshoe Lake highs are mostly in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Horseshoe Lake fall into the 10's. You definitely should love Horseshoe Lake. There are pleasant places to explore along the Buffalo Plateau Trail; camping is available at Hicks Park Campground. This lake | |

is so wonderful. Why not camp at Hells Canyon Campground while you're here at Horseshoe Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Grizzly Lodge.
Not much rainfall falls here at Horseshoe Lake; May is when you get the most rain here,
and the driest month is February. And if that's not sufficient there's heaps more amusing stuff to do in the Absaroka Range. Silvergate Cabins is a wonderful spot to get some rest. Horseshoe Lake is located in the Absaroka Range.
