This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Lake of the Woods is nearby; Horseshoe Lake is right by the Buffalo Plateau Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A great place to camp here at Horseshoe Lake is Pebble Creek Campground. That right there is lots of amusing things already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Horseshoe Lake; Thunderer Cutoff Trail is a splendid local       trail, and Rock Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth going to. Mouse Lake is a pleasant lake in the vicinity of Horseshoe Lake, and the view of beautiful Absaroka Range is great. At Horseshoe Lake all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Horseshoe Lake. Super 8 Big Timber is a nice spot to get some                  rest, and camping is available at Hicks Park Campground. Be careful coming to the Absaroka Range, you might not ever wanna go back home again. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Boulder River, and the Absaroka Range towers over Horseshoe Lake. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Horseshoe Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Republic Trail, and a wonderful place like Horseshoe Basin here at Horseshoe Lake is too great to miss.
