Best Western Butte Plaza Inn is a great place to get some rest; you can stay the night at Lions Den Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Big Hole River offers some perfect whitewater. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Boulder River. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Homestake Lake has to offer,       you can camp at Toll Mountain Campground. Be careful coming to Homestake Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express Butte (Parkside), Mt is a great choice, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Upper Whitetail Park Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Do have a look at Delmoe Lake in close proximity to Homestake Lake, it's a pretty lake, and you can have a fine hiking adventure along                  the Billy Johns Trail. Lots of folks from Butte-Silver Bow come to Homestake Lake; going for a hike along the Brazil Pack Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. At Homestake Lake during the summer highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Homestake Lake. Homestake Lake gets very little rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is generally the driest month.
