If you come at the right time of year, Yellowstone River offers some magnificent whitewater, and Travelodge Yellowstone Park North is a tremendous location to get some rest. There are other places here than High Lake, for example Crag Lake. There's so much to do here at High Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Yankee Jim Campground and Picnic Area is a great spot for that. Not much rain falls here at High Lake; May is the wettest month with most rain,

| | and February meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at High Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are generally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at High Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Carbella Campground is a magnificent place to do that, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Sportsman Lake Trail. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to High Lake. Not far from High Lake,
you'll hit upon Shooting Star Lake which is a scenic lake, and Shooting Star Mountain is a peak you can observe from High Lake. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at High Lake you can take a hike along the Sportsman Lake Trail; a nice nearby hotel is Best Western Mammoth Hot Springs.
