For the period of the warm months here at Helen Lake, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's, and the overnight is quite chillier of course, frequently in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while Helen Lake overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Lewis Range. This lake is so wonderful.       Having a great time at Helen Lake is easy. Glacier National Park is a splendid national park, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Windmaker Lake. Going for a hike on the Highline Trail is always a perfect adventure; get your heart pumping on the magnificent whitewater of Flathead River - Middle Fork. Helen Lake is a good location of typical rain; December is when you get the most snow here, and April is when it's the driest.                  You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the Lewis Range has to offer. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Helen Lake has to offer, you can camp at Many Glacier Campground; if you crave a little side spree, try Ahern Pass. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Lewis Range is great! The top of Ahern Peak is easily seen from Helen Lake, and nearby you hit upon the Iceberg Lake Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. This is a good region for folks who like lakes. Iceberg Lake is a lake close by. There's so much to do here at Helen Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Avalanche Campground is a pleasant place for that.
