    If you are in Gallatin county it's always a good idea to stop by Heather Lake. A trip to Alpine Falls will fill your soul with good feelings; since you're here at Heather Lake it's a great idea to stop by Horseshoe Basin. Around Heather Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Blackmore Campground; don't leave Heather  
   Lake without first checking out Arch Falls Natural Bridge.
Bozeman - Days Inn is a great place to get some rest, and do stop by Palace Lake, it's a charming lake. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Heather Lake. A great close by hotel is Comfort Inn Bozeman, and since you're here, you could also have a look at lovely Blackmore Lake. Through the summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Heather Lake.                night lows descend down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are frequently in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Heather Lake temperatures drop to the 10's.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Pole Gulch Trail is splendid fun, and Bridger Bowl is a very popular ski area in close proximity. A brilliant place to camp here at Heather Lake is Palace Butte Campground, and at Heather Lake you can make out Mount Chisholm.
Take a hike on the Red Rock Trail; you can run the rapids of Mulherin Creek. It's a fine idea to have a look at Maid of the Mist Creek, it's right next door to Heather Lake, and get your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of Yellowstone River.
