Island Lake is a perfect lake in the neighborhood of Heart Lake, and there are nice locations to look at along the Crazy Mountain Trail. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rosebud Creek - West. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Heart Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pine Grove Campground. And that's not       all there is to do here in the Absaroka Range. Take a little spree to East Fishtail Creek since you're here at Heart Lake, and Fishtail Butte is a peak you can observe from Heart Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Man, is there plenty of enjoyable things to do in the vicinity of Heart Lake. Stillwater River is a delightful whitewater spot close to Heart Lake, and Heart Lake is a delightful site to visit for more than one day, Emerald Lake Campground is a                  delightful site to camp nearby. Just can't get enough of the Absaroka Range. Near Heart Lake you locate the Bozeman Trail which is a good hiking trail, and Red Lodge Mountain is a delightful local ski area. It is very dried out here at Heart Lake generally; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. Going for a hike on the Black Butte Trail is always a good adventure, and there are other locations here than Heart Lake, for example Twin Lakes. For the period of the months of summer at Heart Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's.
