There is a pleasant hiking trail in close proximity to Heart Lake called the Storm Peak Trail, and if the weather is pretty, you acquire a nice vista of Craddock Peak from Heart Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Bitterroot Range. You can run the rapids of St. Joe River in the neighborhood of Heart Lake; Rudie Lake is a perfect lake close by.
