Throughout the days of summer at Heart Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's while overnight lows are generally in the 40's. During the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Heart Lake plunge into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. A great place to camp here at Heart Lake is Clearwater Crossing Campground, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Cedar Creek Stock Driveway. Heart Lake is frequently a relatively dried out site; January is when you get the most snow here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Just can't | |

get enough of the Bitterroot Range. Get soaked paddling on Clark Fork, and do stop by Hidden Creek while you're here at Heart Lake.
There's just no way someone can get bored here at Heart Lake. Lightning Peak can be spotted from
Heart Lake. Whitewater paddling is great on Clearwater River - North Fork, and Heart Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Trout Creek Campground is a wonderful local campground.
