The beauty of Heart Lake is reason enough to stop by. Summertime highs at Heart Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Heart Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. Camping at Beartooth Lake Campground is always a tremendous experience, and whitewater paddling is great on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. you can take a hike along the Upper Granite Loop Trail, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Red Lodge Mountain. The Clay Butte Trail is a fine hiking trail near Heart Lake; there are other spots here
than Heart Lake, for example Kidney Lake. Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is abundant here in the Absaroka Range. If the weather is good here at Heart Lake, you can go for a hike along the Granite Loop Trail. Camping is available at Top Of The World Campground, and Clarks Fork Yellowstone River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby.
