Summer brings highs in the 80's to Hawkins Lakes with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Hawkins Lakes. Stay the night at Copper Creek Campground, and Hawkins Lakes lays in the shadow of the Purcell Mountains. Hawkins Lakes is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Red Top Creek Campground is a perfect place to camp nearby,       and the Ruby Ridge Trail is a pleasant hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Hawkins Lakes you can take a hike along the Copper Creek Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Yaak River. If you go for the outdoors, you'll adore Hawkins Lakes. The sight of Davis Mountain from Hawkins Lakes is wonderful, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino is a great place to spend a night or two. There is a great                  hiking trail near Hawkins Lakes called the Newton Gulch Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Moyie River offers some nice whitewater.
