Halfmoon Lake gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; during the month of December you get the most snow around here; the driest of the months is April. This lake is so wonderful. You get a great vista of Loneman Mountain from Halfmoon Lake, and close by you come across the Loneman Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail. Summertime highs at Halfmoon Lake typically tend to be in the 70's. Throughout the dark       hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Halfmoon Lake descend into the 10's. The Lewis Range scenery is always beautiful. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Flathead River - Middle Fork, and after a long day outdoors Glacier Park Super 8 Motel is a fine                  location to spend a night or two. Looking for a splendid trip? Glacier National Park is quite in the vicinity of Halfmoon Lake, and some of the water close by flows, like Nyack Creek. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. Camping is available at Murray Bay Campground; you can go for a hike on the Grant Ridge Trail. So many exciting things to do here in the Lewis Range, too splendid to be true. A splendid location for whitewater paddling right next door to Halfmoon Lake is Flathead River - Middle Fork, and if you've had enough of Halfmoon Lake, Harrison Lake is nearby. Man, is there plenty of fun stuff to do in the Lewis Range. If you came for an overnight stay Sprague Creek Campground is a splendid place to camp, and going for a hike on the Threetops Trail is always a glorious adventure.
