In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rosebud Creek - East, and Buena Vista Campground is a great local campground. Comfort Inn Red Lodge is a fine location to get some rest, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Snowbank Lake. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. You simply have to love the Absaroka Range. You can never get enough       of the brilliant skiing at Red Lodge Mountain, and Hellroaring Plateau is right here at Hairpin Lake. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Near Hairpin Lake you locate the Beartooth Highlakes Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and as expected, this is a fine region for folks who like lakes, Hellroaring Lakes is a lake nearby. The amount of precipitation that falls at Hairpin Lake is close to the national average; the month of May is the wettest                  with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. Throughout the summertime here at Hairpin Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Hairpin Lake. Man, is there plenty of entertaining things to do in the Absaroka Range. If the weather is wonderful, you get a good view of Mount Rearguard from Hairpin Lake; M-K Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Hairpin Lake called the Beauty Lake Trail; Clarks Fork Yellowstone River is a great whitewater spot nearby.
