That right there is loads already, but it continues; Green Lake has it all. A nice nearby hotel is Yellowstone Park North Travelodge, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Mulherin Creek. Green Lake is typically a reasonably dehydrated place; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. The top of Sphinx Mountain is easily made out from Green Lake. This lake is so wonderful.       Get soaked paddling on Yellowstone River; obviously Sphinx Creek flows through this area. Yankee Jim Campground and Picnic Area is a great local campground; close by you stumble on tremendous spots like Quaking Ash Hollow. If you need a place to stay Best Western Mammoth Hot Springs is a wonderful choice, and nearby you find the Sportsman Lake Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. Summertime highs at Green Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's. When                  the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's; night lows in the 10's for Green Lake.
