On a fine day at Golden Trout Lakes you can take a hike along the Red Rock Trail, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Gallatin River. It is very arid here at Golden Trout Lakes frequently; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is commonly the driest month. What would winter be without some skiing at Moonlight Basin,                  and since you're here you can take a hike along the Divide Trail. The Skyline Trail is a delightful hiking trail near Golden Trout Lakes, and after a long day outdoors Big Sky Resort is a wonderful site to spend a night or two. Golden Trout Lakes is not the only site close by, Lake Elsie is a close by lake.
