While you're here at Golden Trout Lakes you will meet lots of folks from close by Bozeman, and if you get bored of Golden Trout Lakes you  
   could also stop by nearby Hidden Lakes.
On a fine day at Golden Trout Lakes you can take a hike along the Red Rock Trail, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Gallatin River. It is very arid here at Golden Trout Lakes frequently; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is commonly the driest month. What would winter be without some skiing at Moonlight Basin,
 
               and since you're here you can take a hike along the Divide Trail.
Very beautiful scenery and brilliant skiing is what you get at Big Sky, and from Golden Trout Lakes you get a great view of Eaglehead Mountain. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Golden Trout Lakes, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Golden Trout Lakes temperatures descend to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The Skyline Trail is a delightful hiking trail near Golden Trout Lakes, and after a long day outdoors Big Sky Resort is a wonderful site to spend a night or two.
Golden Trout Lakes is not the only site close by, Lake Elsie is a close by lake. There's so much to do here at Golden Trout Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Elkhorn is a great site for that.
