Why not stop by Goat Lakes if you're passing through these parts. Go for a hike on the Slide Rock Mountain Trail, and a short visit to Big Spring is always worthwhile. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Goat Lakes, and the nighttime is a tad cooler of course, mostly in the 40's. Round Top Mountain is trouble-free to spot from Goat Lakes, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Vermilion River. This lake is so wonderful.
