This lake is so wonderful. Como Peaks is clearly visible from Goat Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Trapper Peak Trail. And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool stuff just keep reading. After a long day outdoors Best Western Hamilton Inn is a fine place to spend a night or two, and nice hiking is available along the Ward Mountain Trail. | | Lake Dam near Goat Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and if you came to camp Upper Como Campground is a great location to do that. Lakes are such serene places, why not visit Kerlee Lake close to Goat Lake, and don't leave Goat Lake without first going for a hike along the Old Nez Perce Indian Trail. Como Campground is a pleasant place for that, and dry warm beds await you at Townhouse Inn of Hamilton. From a precipitation point of view Goat Lake is a quite common place; during January this area sees the most snow; July is when
it's the driest. At Goat Lake all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's; night lows at Goat Lake through the winter commonly sink into the 10's.

Tag Alder Lake
 | 16 miles away I venture up to Tag Alder every year. It is getting more and more difficult to get up there because of the new growth of trees from the fires of 2000. Once there it is beautiful lake. Another half hour hike up and you will be at the summit of the mountain. There is a nice camp area on North shore. Fishing is best in late spring using small spinners or powerbait.... |

Bass Creek, Sheafman Creek, Fred Burr Trailhead, Roaring Lion, Coyote Coulee, Baker Lake, Trapper Peak, Trapper Creek Chaffin Creek....''Hiking the Bitterroots'' By Mort Arkava is a great book to help you get started....I have only been to a couple of hiking trails in Ravalli County.
