Going for a hike on the Cutoff Trail is always a glorious adventure, and on a gorgeous day you get a good vista of Dutchman Peak from Gnome Lake. Gnome Lake is a location that is quite dry typically; the wettest month of the year is frequently June, that's the one that rains the most while January is commonly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Gnome Lake, you could also pop by close by Cataract Lake; Gnome Lake is delightful enough

| | to spend more than a day at, Beaver Creek Campground 1 is a delightful local campground. Through the summer months at Gnome Lake highs are ordinarily in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Gnome Lake. There's so much to do here at Gnome Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rock Creek Campground is a good location for that, and dry warm beds | |

but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Gnome Lake. A journey to Hilgard Basin invigorates the spirit, and a lake nearby is Painted Lake. Don't leave Gnome Lake without first going for a hike along the Wapiti Creek Trail,
and glide down the rapids of Madison River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is good at Big Sky, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn WEST YELLOWSTONE is a glorious spot to spend a night or two.
