Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Gneiss Lake. What a site this is for outdoors folks. Leggat Creek is a scenic stream that is worth       stopping at, and a splendid nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Butte (Parkside), Mt. At Gneiss Lake you don’t see much rainfall; most of the rain falls through June; February meanwhile is the driest month. Here at Gneiss Lake you can observe Leggat Mountain, and there is a wonderful hiking trail close by called the Quartz Hill Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Whitehall is a fine choice; on a great day you can                  take a hike along the Pedro Trail. Gneiss Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Mill Creek Campground is a glorious local campground, and Bell Lake is a great lake close by. There's so much to do here at Gneiss Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Balanced Rock Campground is a nice place for that, and at Bell Lake Dam right next door to Gneiss Lake there are some exciting things to see. Lakes?
