The amount of rainfall that falls at Gem Lake is close to the national average; through the month of December you get the most snow around here; April is the month with the least moisture. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Lewis Range. No need to travel far to take a look at exciting stuff like Sperry Glacier, and the view of wonderful Edwards Mountain is splendid. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the Lewis Range will keep       you coming back again and again. Good hiking is available along the Avalanche Trail, and you can stay the night at Sprague Creek Campground. There are perfect places to discover along the Snyder Lake Trail; a fine place like Avalanche Basin here at Gem Lake is too great to miss. Gem Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Avalanche Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Gunsight Pass Trail. This lake is so wonderful.                  After a long day outdoors Glacier Park Super 8 Motel is a fine site to spend a night or two, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out Akaiyan Lake. And that's not all you can do here at Gem Lake. Comeau Pass is a great location to stop by close to Gem Lake; a wonderful lake like Feather Woman Lake is a magnificent location to stop by. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Flathead River - Middle Fork. For the period of the warm months here at Gem Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Gem Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Akaiyan Falls is an inspiring place to stop by during your stay; if you have time to spare, Glacier National Park is a national park worth a visit.
