The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Lake Frances temperatures drop to the 0's. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is abundant here in the Lewis Range. The overriding characteristic in the region is the Livingston Range; camping at Logging Creek Campground is always       a good experience. Interesting geology is available here; Dixon Glacier is near Lake Frances, and there's splendid hiking along the Waterton Valley Trail. The Boulder Pass Trail offers hiking at its best, and don't miss out on a trip to Glacier National Park if you're here. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Lewis Range. Lake Frances is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Bowman Lake Campground is a wonderful                  local campground, and Carcajou Lake is a fine lake close by. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Lakes are such serene locations, why not have a look at Wahseeja Lake in the neighborhood of Lake Frances, and Chapman Peak is a peak you can see from Lake Frances. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake Frances without first going for a hike along the North Boundary Trail; unsurprisingly Thunderbird Creek flows through this area. Not much rainfall falls here at Lake Frances; through December this area sees the most snow, and April is when it's the driest.
