There's so much to do here at Fossil Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Chief Joseph Campground is a good location for that; Ouzel Lake is a good lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Yodeler Motel, and lakes are such serene sites, why not check out Fulcrum Lake. For the duration of the summer months at Fossil Lake temperatures are regularly in the 70's, and       during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Fossil Lake. Go for a hike on the Lake Reno Trail, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone. An average amount of rain falls at Fossil Lake; the wettest month of the year is mostly June, that's the one that rains the most, and October is                  when it's the driest. This location, the Absaroka Range, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. Going for a hike on the Crazy Lakes Trail is always a great adventure. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Absaroka Range. Stay the night at Fox Creek Campground, and here at Fossil Lake you can catch a sight of Bald Knob. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Fossil Lake.
