The Bear Gulch Trail offers hiking at its best. Not much rainfall falls here at Forest Lake; during May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. Nearby lakes? Sure, Park Lake is right next door to Forest Lake, and a brilliant nearby hotel is Best Western Helena Great Northern Hotel. Jorgenson Inn and Suite is a splendid location to get some rest, and what would winter       be without some skiing at Great Divide. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Forest Lake; Sweeney Creek Ecology Trail is a magnificent local trail; Tenmile Campground is a good campground nearby. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff next to Forest Lake. Forest Lake is a place with many visitors from Helena; places like Frohner Basin are good to stop by. High temperatures at Forest Lake during the summer months are                  in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Forest Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Chessman Saddle Dam is not far at all from Forest Lake, and the top of Spruce Hills is easily seen from Forest Lake. A wonderful site for whitewater paddling next to Forest Lake is Boulder River; magnificent hiking is available along the Mount Helena National Recreation Trail.
