Forest Lake is mostly a pretty dehydrated place; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Boulder River. At Forest Lake you always meet someone from Helena, and good water scenery is available at Chessman Saddle Dam in the neighborhood of Forest Lake. Forest Lake       is a fine site to visit for more than one day, Park Lake Campground is a fine site to camp nearby, and Park Lake is a perfect lake nearby. Spruce Hills is stunning and can be seen from Forest Lake, and if you need a location to stay Jorgenson Inn and Suite is a splendid choice. High temperatures at Forest Lake through the warm days of summer are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are mostly in the                  30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Forest Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Forest Lake has to offer, you can camp at Tenmile Campground, and you can go for a hike on the Sweeney Creek Ecology Trail. Having a perfect time at Forest Lake is painless. Frohner Basin is a great place; good hiking is available along the Bear Gulch Trail. Going for a hike on the Mount Helena National Recreation Trail is always a great adventure, and a beautiful lake like Quartz Lake is a great spot to have a look at. This lake is so wonderful.
