Forest Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Forest Lake is mostly a pretty dehydrated place; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Boulder River. At Forest Lake you always meet someone from Helena, and good water scenery is available at Chessman Saddle Dam in the neighborhood of Forest Lake. Forest Lake

Spruce Hills is stunning and can be seen from Forest Lake, and if you need a location to stay Jorgenson Inn and Suite is a splendid choice. 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Forest Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Forest Lake has to offer, you can camp at Tenmile Campground, and you can go for a hike
on the Sweeney Creek Ecology Trail. Having a perfect time at Forest Lake is painless. Frohner Basin is a great place; good hiking is available along the Bear Gulch Trail. Going for a hike on the Mount Helena National Recreation Trail
is always a great adventure, and a beautiful lake like Quartz Lake is a great spot to have a look at. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Great Divide is near Forest Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Helena Great Northern Hotel.
