If you are traveling by, why not stop by Fly Lake. Good hiking is available along the Thunderer Cutoff Trail, unsurprisingly you could also pop by Sourdough Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. So many cool things in the Absaroka Range, just phenomenal. A tremendous close by hotel is Super 8 Motel Big Timber. Fly Lake is a location that is quite waterless mostly; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most, and

| | February is when it's the driest.
And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do in the neighborhood of Fly Lake. The top of Courthouse Mountain is easily distinguished from Fly Lake; if you came to camp Colter Campground is a tremendous spot to do that. Fly Lake is not the only place nearby, Spider Lake is a nearby lake, and you can go for a hike on the Pilot Creek Trail. Through the warm months at Fly Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's. the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Fly Lake.
Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in the Absaroka Range. Going for a hike
on the Republic Trail is always a nice adventure; you can run the rapids of Stillwater River. Fly Lake is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Fly Lake that you need to camp
here for a while, Soda Butte Campground is a fine place for that, and there's whitewater on Clarks Fork Yellowstone for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
