The slopes of Red Lodge Mountain are so inviting noone can resist, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Upper Granite Loop Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range. Having a glorious time at Flat Rock Lake is trouble-free. Looking for something in close proximity to Flat Rock Lake? Pleiades Lakes is close by; on a good day you can take a hike along the Granite Loop Trail.       The yearly rain here at Flat Rock Lake is about average; during June this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. Flat Rock Lake is not the only place nearby, Varve Lake is a nearby lake, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rosebud Creek - East. And that's not all you can do here in the Absaroka Range. Flat Rock Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, East                  Rosebud Campground is a fine local campground; from Flat Rock Lake you obtain a brilliant sight of Castle Mountain. Castle Rock Glacier is a wonderful site to visit while in the vicinity, and Clarks Fork Yellowstone River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Throughout the warm months at Flat Rock Lake highs are regularly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Flat Rock Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
