High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at First Rock Lake. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Here at First Rock Lake you can see Beartooth Mountain, and delightful skiing awaits you at Red Lodge Mountain. The Beartooth Highlakes Trail offers hiking at its best; get       yourself into a kayak and hit Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. Get soaked paddling on Rosebud Creek - East, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Beauty Lake Trail. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Absaroka Range is unbeatable! Take a hike on the Upper Granite Loop Trail; a fine location to camp here at First Rock Lake is Bots Sots Campground. That right there is a lot already, but it goes on; First Rock Lake has it all. Camping is available                  at Buena Vista Campground, and perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Keyser Brown Lake is just a very short distance away. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more cool things to do here in the Absaroka Range. After a long day outdoors Yodeler Motel is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and Beartooth Glacier is an exciting thing to make out while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop by September Morn Lake since you're here at First Rock Lake; it's nearby, and you could always explore Sundance Pass.
