Sure, Green Lake is nearby, and a journey to Tom Miner Basin invigorates the soul. The Sportsman Lake Trail offers hiking at its best; Canyon Creek is in close proximity to Ferrell Lake and is always a pleasure to explore. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Mulherin Creek is so much fun, and a glorious close by hotel is Best Western Mammoth Hot Springs. Good       hiking is available along the Red Rock Trail; camping at Yankee Jim Campground and Picnic Area is always a brilliant experience. If you came to camp Carbella Campground is a fine place to do that, and you can take a little visit to Merrell Dam if you're here at Ferrell Lake. Not much rainfall falls here at Ferrell Lake; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's                  even more cool stuff to do here at Ferrell Lake. After a long day outdoors Yellowstone Park North Travelodge is a fine site to spend a night or two, and there's good hiking along the Pole Gulch Trail. The view of Crystal Cross Mountain from Ferrell Lake is stunning, and whitewater paddling is good on Yellowstone River. Summertime highs at Ferrell Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
