     You'll locate a pretty lake called Crag Lake near Expedition Lake, and don't leave Expedition Lake without first going for a hike along the Wapiti Creek Trail. Expedition Lake is a magnificent site to visit for more than one day, Beaver Creek Campground 1 is a magnificent site to camp nearby, and a perfect site is Expedition Pass. Around Expedition Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is June; the driest month of the year is  
   January. This lake is so wonderful. At Expedition Lake you can make out Dutchman Peak, and going for a hike on the Cutoff Trail is always a nice adventure.
There are nice spots to look at along the Lightning Creek Trail. So many amusing things to do at Expedition Lake, so little time. Hilgard Basin is a splendid spot to stretch your legs a bit, and Rock Creek Campground is a great campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Arrowhead is a wonderful location
 
               to get some rest, and lovely scenery and great skiing is what you get at Moonlight Basin.
A great site for whitewater paddling near Expedition Lake is Madison River, and hey, Gotta ski right? Big Sky is a fine location to do that. Do stop at Lake Ha Hand right next door to Expedition Lake, it's a delightful lake, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn WEST YELLOWSTONE is a brilliant choice. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Expedition Lake reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Expedition Lake.
