Evans Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Big Nelson Campground is a tremendous local campground, and magnificent hiking is available along the McCabe Lake Creek Trail. After a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Deer Lodge is a great place to spend a night or two. A short spree to Jacobsen Spring is always worthwhile, and whitewater paddling is great on Blackfoot River - North Fork. The warmest time of       the year at Evans Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows at Evans Lake all through the winter commonly drop into the 0's. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll fancy Evans Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Evans Lake; Lake Otatsy Trail is a great local trail. There's so much to do here at Evans Lake that you need to camp here                  for a while, Monture Creek Campground is a good site for that. This lake is so wonderful. Do have a look at Evans Lake Dam if you're here at Evans Lake; you could always look at Nevada Valley. Evans Lake gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the snow is January, and the driest month is July.
