You don’t have to go far from Evans Lake to make out the water at Evans Lake Dam, and you can stay the night at Big Nelson Campground. Evans Lake is a nice spot to camp, Monture       Creek Campground is a nice spot, and if you're here you can take a hike along the McCabe Lake Creek Trail. All through the long summer days at Evans Lake highs are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. Highs throughout the winter are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Evans Lake are in the 0's. A trip to Jacobsen Spring will fill your soul with pleasant feelings, and there are some fine whitewater                  spots on Blackfoot River - North Fork. Not much rainfall falls here at Evans Lake; January is when you get the most snow here, and July is when it's the driest.
