If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Cabinet Mountains. Going for a hike on the Goat Peak Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and a good site to camp here at Engle Lake is North Shore Campground. This is a wonderful region for folks who like lakes. Upper Lake is a lake in the neighborhood, and here at Engle Lake you can distinguish Engle Peak. This lake is so wonderful. Lookout Pass has perfect slopes and a friendly staff,

close by that might be worth checking out. Engle Lake is one of the lakes here in the Cabinet Mountains. Engle Lake is a good spot of normal precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and July on
the other hand is the driest. Through the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the 80's at Engle Lake with nighttime lows in the 40's. Highs all through the winter are commonly in the 30's while the cold winter nights
at Engle Lake are in the 10's. There is a brilliant hiking trail near Engle Lake called the Engle Lake Trail, and Rodeway Inn Libby is a good place to get some rest.

The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho.
